Simulator PC - System requirements

The system requirements for the PC correspond to those for an HTC VIVE compatible system. A good overview of the technical data can be found under HTC VIVE - Recommended minimum requirements. We also recommend 16 GB RAM and a graphics card with NVIDIA chipset.

Outline of the basic requirements

Processor: Intel Core i5-4590 equivalent or better
GPU: Dedicated Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 16 GB equivalent or better (Driver version 566.45 or later recommended)
PC Ports: 1× DisplayPort port, 1× USB 3.0 Type-A port

A permanent Internet connection is also required (WLAN or LAN). In addition to the display in the VR glasses, a FullHD display (1920x1080) display (screen or projector) should be provided for the other course participants.

Space and set-up requirements

Recommended space for the simulator console is at least 3 m². However, if you decide for a VR system with Lighhouses, the positioning of the tracking sensors is an important point when planning the location, an example of a proven room layout is shown here:

Focus Vision connection

VIVE FOCUS VISION is a hybrid headset capable of standalone and streaming mode. For the XRNAUT simulator you need the streaming mode. In streaming mode all processing will be performed on the PC (or laptop) and the rendered images will be sent to the headset. FOCUS VISION provides two distinct streaming modes: Wired streaming and wireless streaming. The best user experience  get with wireless streaming. In this case the headset will operate on battery and will be full wireless.
Alternatively you can utilize the wired streaming mode. Therefore you need the WIRED WIRED STREAMING KIT which connects the headset to the PC via a DisplayPort connector. Please note that neither high speed WLAN router nor wired streaming kit is included in standard FOCUS VISION bundles.
